Most people land at Puerto Princesa and still have most of Palawan to cross. The road north is sealed the whole way now, which was not true a few years ago, and the run takes five to six hours in a shared van.

Book the morning departure. The afternoon vans arrive after dark, and arriving in El Nido after dark with luggage and no booking is how people end up paying too much for a room they would not otherwise have taken.

A private van costs more and is worth it for three or more people travelling together, or for anyone who would rather stop when they want to.
